The step counter on the original stride unit only works through manual resistance detected by the motor.
What we can do to assist with the step counter functioning is making sure the belt of the unit is properly adjusted and tightened according to the instructions in the user manual. If the belt is too loose or misaligned it could cause the step counter to read incorrectly.
Additionally, we have come across issues with users on the lower end of the weight spectrum having persistent issues with the step counter we need to make sure the belt is tight enough for these users.
Another thing we can do is bypass the manual function of the step counter by connecting the equipment to our application. You can use the application for free without a subscription and this will allow us access to digitally counted metrics that are more accurate.
