This issue can be related to the red "Safety Key" on the treadmill not being fully inserted.
To confirm safety key is in contact, see below.
1. Make sure the Red Safety Key is fully inserted (pushed in fully to the unit)
2. Power the unit off for 1 min
3. When powering the treadmill back on if you see your treadmill's serial number select it or it may auto connect. If you are brought to a "Checking for Connection... Available equipment- Tap Serial Number to Connect" page you will need to hold the 1&7 keys down for up to 8 seconds, maybe longer, this forces the base of the unit into Bluetooth pairing mode, and should make the serial number selectable on screen.
This could also be related to the treadmill's equipment firmware needing to be updated.
Sometimes if the App version and or tablet firmware is updated on the treadmill before the treadmill's equipment firmware is updated the tablet and the treadmill will not communicate. When the two are not connecting to one another the app on the tablet will default to bike classes, as the app always defaults to bike classes when it doesn't know any other equipment available. If this is the case you will need to completely disconnect the tablet from the treadmill, power cycle the treadmill for 60 seconds and then connect the treadmill to the mobile app and on the More page update the treadmill's equipment firmware. See detail instructions below.
1. Unplug the tablet from the treadmill completely, you will not have the tablet plugged into the treadmill for these steps.
2. Make sure that all permissions for the Echelon fit app are allowed on your Phone, this goes for Android and iPhone. If you have an iPhone all permissions should be allowed except for Commercial.

3. Open the Echelon Fit app on your Phone, sign in and select your profile.
4. Tap on Me in the bottom right corner.
5. Tap on the gear/cog icon in the top right.
6. You are now in the settings of the app, AKA the More page. Open up the My Equipment option.
7. Swipe left on Connect Bike and choose Delete and then choose Yes.
8. You are now back on the Featured section of the mobile app.
Tap on Me in the bottom right again. Then also the gear/cog icon in the top right.
9. Open up My Equipment again. Then tap on the plus sign in the top right.
Scroll until you see Echelon Stride. Tap on it once.
10. Choose your retailer, if you do not see your retailer choose Echelon and then you can select Done in the bottom left when it asks for the date of purchase, the date does not matter. You can just select Done in the bottom left.
11. You are now back on the My Equipment list. Tap once on Echelon Stride from the list.
12. You are again back on the Featured section of the mobile app.
Tap on Me, then the gear/cog icon again.
13. Turn the treadmill off at the base for 1 min and then back on.
14. In the mobile app in the settings, open up Firmware Update from the options.
15. Hold down the 1 & 7 on the console of the treadmill to place the treadmill in Bluetooth pairing mode.
16. Tap on Connect Device in red at the center bottom of the Firmware Update page on your phone.
17. Then select your treadmill's serial number and update the treadmill's FW & HW.
*Once you have updated your treadmill's Firmware & Hardware you should be able to close out the mobile app on your phone, and plug the tablet back in with only the DC cable in the DC In port, not the DC Out port, (leave the large gray data cable unplugged at this time) and then power cycle the treadmill again and then once it powers back up hold down the 1 & 7 to pair the tablet and the treadmill via Bluetooth.
If you see no new Firmware & Hardware update available for the treadmill on the mobile app let us know. If you are unable to complete any of the steps for whatever reason let us know.
If you see a equipment firmware update available and update to it but then plug the tablet back in and the serial number still does not populate on the tablet after another power cycle and when the 1 & 7 are held down for 7 seconds let us know.
If the treadmill's firmware is up to date it will show the serial number, not ED####### beside Equipment Model: in the Firmware Update page.
